Cambelt change concerns

Hello all. My 1996 850 2.5 20v estate has done just over 90000 miles. The cambelt was changed at around 60000 miles. However, this was done during 2001 and I am curious as to whether there is a time limit, as there is a mileage limit, regarding how long these belts actually last. I am unsure whether I should get it changed again soon or leave it until 120000 miles (another 6 years with the small amount of use it gets). Anyone know?

Most service schedules have both mileage and time limits; so even if you haven't done 10,000 miles, after one year the service should be done anyway. The same is valid with your belt; they do degrade over time. If your belt has a 60k interval (mine is an earlier 50k) then you should really replace it every six years, regardless of mileage. Probably it will be in quite satisfactory condition anyway, but it's not all that expensive (or even difficult to do yourself) and worth it for peace of mind if nothing else. Cheers, AJ

just a quicky to add whats the best recomened belts to get brand wise ,as i would trust dealers ,reason been i know some (which ive worked for stick repro parts in there boxs and charge full wack ,///
