Sounds strange. The message after you run 'Check video streams for errors' only means VD found no undecodable frames (eg freeze frames). What you could try is simply direct stream copy your file with vdub, perhaps this is enough to get rid of the problem.

I just did that (How did it never crossed my mind ?!?) and guess what ?!? The a/v synch was destroyed... Never mind,I just finished encoding it as an sVCD and it came out just fine...We ll never know what was wrong with the DivX AVI after all... Thanx for your replys though... Hmmm,i have no patience to fiddle around with this file no more so i ended up deleting it... (Weird,but DVD2sVCD managed to turn the original VOBs into a fine sVCD MPEG-2 file with no problems at all...but i already said that :p) Anyway,thanks for your help...
