Newbie question : smartripper vs ifoedit

Hi Fisrt of all, thanks to everybody here. You're doing great job. Forgive this newbie question by a newbie...I don't speak english very well and i'm not sure about one thing : When using smartripper, do we get only the main movie, or is it still possible to delete things with ifoedit ? I have difficulties to understand why some guides are so copmlicated when this program seems to give the main movie easily...Maybe for advanced purposes ? By the way, i'm looking for someone who speaks french and would be ok to answer on or two question from time to time. Thanks a lot.

tomti, When using Smartripper, you can rip :- Movie Only (that means *.VOB files only) Backuop (The same as Movie Mode + a *.Ifo set) Files (Check out the dialogue box, from there, you are able to select ALL files.) This means waht it says, all files on the DVD. Hope that helps. Sorry I don't speak French (well, not good enough to converse on the forum) HomerJ :)

hello Homer Thank you to have read my question. What i meant however was : in the vobs, is there only the movie and the audio tracks selected ? Or is there something this software does not allow you to delete ? thanks !

Hi Tomti, Yes, when you rip "movie only", all you get (by default) is the movie and english audio. To confirm this, go to "stream Processing" tab. You should see these 2 items ticked. If you want to rip "Movie Only" (no extras, no menus) This option is best. I use it all the time. You can use Ifoedit to create a new ifo set, or if you re author, use something like Spruce Up or DVD Maestro, these too will generate ifo sets. HomerJ :D
