Space saver

Hi All The car felt a bit wobbly in the last mile of my commute this morning, low and behold a flat front tyre. I put air in it, but with in an hour it was down again.:angry_smile: I have a 70 mile drive home tonight and cant get a new tyre until tomorrow. Question is should I fit the space saver to the rear and put the good rear on the front, or stick the space saver on the front? Mark

Mark My gut feeling is to say stick the space saver on the back, my reasoning being that all the 'work' (steering, power delivery etc) is being done by the front wheels and 70 miles is a fair way to go on a space saver. Alternatively, after having to swap a wheel on the motorway, in rush hour and torrential rain a few years ago, I bought a tin of tyre repair stuff that you just feed into the tyre via the valve. I'd be happier driving that distance on a full size tyre filled with that rather than the space saver but I can't give you any good, sound, mechanical reasons for it :) Dave

V70 will take a full size alloy spare under the boot - the plod spec vehicles have them as standard. A trip to a breakers or eBay land might be worthwhile... Chris
