Well done that man!! I think that there is a plastic joining piece under the dash. From there the pipe passes along the sill area to the rear of the car. Here it goes up the pillar to the area behind the black plastic vertical grill, which appears when you open the tailgate fully. It is then taped to the hinge loom. Let me know if it is a split in the pipe as I may be able to help you out if it is a fair way from a join. The first cambelt change should have been done at 50,000 miles, so if it has not been done thenyou must do it ASAP. I reccomend a good quality leather cleaner and conditioner, followed by an application of saddle soap to preserve the leather. Will you require a registration form for your car, for the register of 960s? All the best, Peter.

Make sure that the recall over the steering problem has been carriued out. The problem arose originally because they fitted the wrong top steering column bearing arrangement. This needs to be replaced at the earliest opportunity and Volvo UK approached for financial assistance, if it has not been carried out. It sounds as if it has caused the rack and/or the steering knuckles to wear prematurely. All the best, Peter.
