Auth_call.exe has generated errors ... dohh 

Dear Everyone Smarter Than I... Noob is at it again.. I was running DVD2SVCD just fine on my box using WinME and just "had" to upgrade to Win2KPro. Now when I try to run DVD2SVCD I get an error: Auth_Call.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log has been generated. So I search... I find the post instructing me to download ForceAshi1.7 and I do so. I'm not sure I ran the programs correctly after downloading but I clicked on about everything that was downloaded and rebooted several times. I still get the error statement above. I search more... I download http:\\lightninguk.dns2go.com's program and still no luck. If someone would draw a picture for me, I'd be grateful. I would really like to get the DVD2SVCD working again. Box is an HP 1.3Gig machine, 60G HD, 640m ram, W2kPro. I also have PowerDVD Pro XP loaded and DVDs play fine on the box. Thank you again, Grasshopper noob.. DT98

I can solve this one! :) 

OK - It just so happens that I had the EXACT problem just two nights ago. I did a clean install of W2KPro and then dvd2svcd. You have to run Force ASPI. You do this by running Instaspi.bat (which is in the zip file). After the install you MUST reboot. At this point you can run dvd2svcd with no problem. Since you say that you ran all the files that were in the zip I can only assume that you ran Instaspi.bat and then ran killaspi.bat. Good luck Bryan

You probably clicked on the install.bat within the .zip or .rar file without extracting them. Sometimes it's pays to save time to read the readme.txt.

Hi again mrbass, Yep, I've been known to click a file before extracting but ahhh, not this time. I think I just clicked on the wrong bat file. I'm going to keep an eye on the convert process and see how W2K compares to ME. I may lose time but I think reliability will greatly improve. Best regards... DT98
