This happened once, for the first time ever, when I first installed Reaper 2.53 Then it went away, until today: ------------------------------------------------ For some reason, I can't launch any of my sessions from their rpp files. I have to first launch Reaper from its main application-icon. Even if I then save the currently-open session under a new name, and quit Reaper, I STILL can't open that newly-saved session by double-clicking on its RPP icon. Additionally: (this ay or may not be a clue) Some of the new session icons don't look "correct." They resemble text documents, more than Reaper rpp's. -But neither this type, nor the "correct looking" type of RPP's are opening directly. I re-installed Reaper, but still no love. Any ideas?
Theres an option when installing to associate rpp files with reaper, did you have that enabled when you installed? You should be able to fix it by r-clicking a rpp file>open with...tick 'always use selected' and choose reaper. BTW, which version number of reaper are you using? Mac/PC?
Thanks, Billoon. Problem solved! Reaper 2.53 on a PC. --------------------------------------- It wasn't exactly as you described, but close enough. I use XP Home, in classic view mode. There was no "always open with" but the "open with" command was good enough. In fact, clicking this on one session instantly changed ALL my RPP files to the "correct" icon, and they all seem to be opening properly now. ---------------------------- -But why did this happen? I never saw that choice in the installer, is it new in the 2.53 installer? -Or perhaps the installer default has changed? -And why would someone choose to disable this? For what purpose?
NP. :) Its been an install option as far back as i can remember. Maybe some people associate their files with notepad or some other text editor??? Did you open a rpp with notepad once maybe, that might have changed the file association.
I doubt it. Weird. I definitely never selected anything in the installer that would relate to this. Again- Why would someone choose to NOT link the RPP's to Reaper?
