Hey! I used to use Ableton Live but I didn't feel like upgrading it anymore since I feel Live is too limited when it comes to editing... it basically has no editing capabilities *grin*. So I have switched to Reaper and I'm liking it so far but I discovered the area above all the tracks where you can put your mouse cursos and the "hand" icon appears which will let you simply click and drag to navigate horizontally across the tracks. Now, what I'm wondering is if this "hand" or "grab" tool can be used without having to go up to that bar above the audio tracks? In Ableton Live, you could hold down Ctrl+Alt (I believe) and click anywhere, even on your audio items, and it would switch to the "hand" tool and let you navigate both horizontally and vertically by simply dragging. This would speed up my work in Reaper so much, since I'm still not used to whatever navigation controls Reaper currently have :) I'll point out that I'm also aware of the fact that you can use the middle mouse button to get the "scroll tool" and use the mouse to navigate across the tracks but it is HORRIBLE. It is erratic, twitchy and just jerks around. And it is far more sensitive to horizontal movement than vertical... it is really difficuly to navigate. If I could navigate with the same "feel" as when dragging that bar above the audio tracks, but with being able to do so anywhere on the track screen, it would rock!
