Hi, I'm having some problems with backups of my dvd's. When I make my backup (with ifoedit) I don't have a VIDEO_TS.VOB file. It seems that you need that file for some stand alone dvd players. I copied a VIDEO_TS.VOB file from a dvd and tried to do a 'get VTS Sectors' like I found in one of the threads on the forum. I always get the same error ... 'a menu vob has been found, but there are no menu tables and that I should delete through the menu file'. Which is correct because I only took the movie and no extras. Could someone tell me what I should do next? Burn the damn thing or what? thanks for the help

When processing your VOBs with the IfoEdit VOB Extras dialog, there are some options here that will make a new VIDEO_TS.IFO (but no VIDEO_TS.VOB). Are you getting these files? I dont think you need the VIDEO_TS.VOB if the VIDEO_TS.IFO containes the proper control information to navigate through a DVD.
Djorre, I recently just did Collateral Damage and that DVD didn't even have a video_ts.vob. I backed up movie only and with one sub title. Create new ifo for those vobs. What do you know, when burning in imgtool, I get "video_ts.vob not present" error. I decided to burn just in regular Nero 5.5.9.17 and didn't get no error messages. Burn went fine and played flawlessly.
I found out what the problem could be. It seems that I'm able to play it without problem if i create an image of the files and write it after that. Realy strange, don't understand it. Thanks All for the help
you really don't need that file at all... if you choose to do a movie only disc you'll get a video_ts.ifo and .bup but no .vob ! So the movie will start as soon as you load the disc. check if you have the option "create new ifo's (movie only) selected. if so uncheck it. assuming you want to keep that for some reason. (if you like the menus, like i do.)
