Options request: 'Hand tool' style for 'Middle button.

Please add 'Hand tool style' option in the drop down menu for middle mouse button behaviour... EDIT: It will be best for all sides if we could simply customize it from the action list, but you should add another "special button" for 'holding mousewheel' right below the "special key [enter, tab, etc..]" so people who want to use the "hold middle button" will be able to do it in the action list. like in this picture.

seems like many people want this hand tool: list is long...make a search. *just don't replace it with anything, add it as an option for Middle mouse button! (like in the picture above)

Yes me too! On my wacom penpad the middle mouse scroll is useless! ;) (what's with it not being able to move vertically very far? ;) would love it if cockos stole the way Cubase middle mouse works as although it moves in the opposite direction you get a sense of the arrange page as a short of canvas to explore and it feels more tactile :)

While I do recognize the usefulness of the "hand tool" for some users, I personally don't really see any practical use for it. If you're working projects wich have ~75 tracks, multiple parts, edits and evertyhing is spread around all over - generally projects wich are too big to fit onto a screen of a normal monitor. In these cases there is one tool that makes the navigation a breeze - you guessed it, the allmighty navigator! :P It allows super fast zooming, play cursor repositioning and moving anywhere within project in a second - and all this with overview of the project. I really can't see myself struggling, dragging and scrolling around with some hand tool when I have the ability to use the navigator. For me it feels like editing 6000x6000 pictures in Photoshop on 17" screen using 20% zoom and not using the navigator to move around. But as I said, I can see the need and importance of this for some people, so I won't object - as long as it is an optional feature =) In all fairness I think the best way to implement this would be to turn current mouse functions (navigation, item handling etc.) into actions and at the same time make all mouse buttons mappable (icluding the support for more than 3 mouse buttons please). On the other hand all this would involve some serious work. Definately some kind of editor for setting up mouse behavour while editing items should be added first (a FR is existing for one). Also some serious thought need to be put into navigation and other really basic behaviour (in case mouse puttons would be free to map), especially how to implement them as actions - or code again a some kind on "navigation behaviour editor". Though, freeing up mouse for customization would make the Reaper's workflow pretty much completely customizable. That said, it does indeed involve some serious thought and I'm not sure wether it is really that practial in the end or just waste of resources. Just think about it.. figouring out item/time/area selection, item editing, basic navigation etc.

"single click inserts/removes notes" we have that. if you need to delete multiple notes, use the marquee select.

oh boy...... i can read.. im not that stupid as you think. But i guess that rightclick-delete wont happen, thats against Reaper's consistency. i could be wrong, tho.

no, you dont have to make a video to show me FL's piano roll, nor the forkflow. i know it, i dont like it. never liked it. especially the 1 click PianoRoll Editing. sorry. about the arrogance.. man, i tried to help you - but you didnt read my posts, then you came with the -1000000... and the bold lines.. i dont get you.
