Not to be an arse or anything but the best suggestion is to get a G4 of any flavor.

Yo, smiggy, i have Beige G3 MT that was 266mhz, upgraded w/ XLR8 G3Z, 640mb of RAM OS 9.1 LE 5.1.1, Voodoo 5500 pci video, Iomega Ultra C SCSI, 2 9.1g 10k scsi,1 18.2g 7.2k scsi, DVDRAM, CDRW..... As you can see my PT rigg is not even close to being supported but i can record 18 tracks at once, and get 24 track playback w/ at least 15 plug ins, all low cpu tho..mcdsp, q10. ren comp, maxim, 1176(just-1!!) and varois others. I rarely get that stupid error. But, are you recording at 48k? Are you using the ADAT I/O? Are you recording on your boot drive, or IDE, or SCSI? Have you followed ALL, and I mean EVERY SINGLE suggestion in the quick start guide? No platinum, uncheck smooth all fonts, use chicago fonts....ect? I have a SUPER trimmed down extension set also. Tell me more about HOW you have your Beige g3 setup. sdf

Beige G3 digi001 dae 6045 error 

cannot get my system to record for more than 4 mins without getting a dae 6045 error. Have tried almost every combination of memory, latency,buffer size to no avail. What do I have to do to get it to work? My specs are, mac G3 with an updated processor455MHz with 512K backside cache,and 640 MB memory on a mac 9.1 system. Please help this old adat studio get into the pro tools world.

The only adjustments which seem to reduce the occurrence of the -6045 error are as follows: 1-Open the Setups>Playback Engine>Other Options window. Switch the Optical Format to "S/PDIF" 2-Work with 44.1kHz sessions instead of 48kHz. Brent
