.mkv troubles with DTS playing as DD

OK so I just got a BD ROM for my HTPC and I am backing up my first disc which is Total Recall. I am not interested in encoding the file I only want to create a contained file compatible with VMC. My stupid PDVD complains of HDCP on my own legal equipment and content. I have used DVD FAB free to back up the movie only with just the DTS track. This has produced a m2ts that I have demuxed using TSmuxer to mpv, dts and sup files. I then load the file mpv and dts into mkvmerge and create the mkv file. When played In VMC my receiver lights up as DD not DTS. Codecs should be OK because other .mkv's I have tested play DTS or DD appropriately. IS this because originally DD was in the position of the DTS and I need to set a flag somewhere? P.S. Total Media Theater does play the file as DTS and file properties show DTS 6ch 48000 so maybe it is codec related.

Chances are whatever this VMC thing is re-encoding to AC3 before sending over SPDIF.

The confusion over acronym VMC is Vista Media Center or Windows Media Player Vista x64. I prefer to play files via this interface. Why re-encode DTS to AC3? I want DTS & the original disc has 5.1 DD and I really don't want it because I prefer DTS. Maybe you misunderstand the problem is not as simple as googling VMC+DTS because DTS works fine on test mkv's although I agree codecs could be the problem, I have set SPDIF passthrough on AC3 & DTS streams and it ONLY does not work for this very simple demuxed original file.

Graphedit pointed audio to ac3filter which pointed to default directsound device. changed ac3filter/system tab to ignore dts and VMC picked up this file as DTS correctly, thanks for the help.
