ADAT & 001

Hi, I was considering buying a Digi 001 but would just like to confirm my suspicions: * It is not possible to sync the 001 with an ADAT * It is not possible to sync the PT LE to video unless using trigger sync. Thanks for any help, Two Rack

Tworack, * It is not possible to sync the 001 with an ADAT Yes, you can sync the 001 to an adat. You will need a box to get the timecode from the adat and convert it to MTC. The least expensive box is the JL Cooper Data Sync II. * It is not possible to sync the PT LE to video unless using trigger sync. Wrong, there are 2 parts to TRUE SYNC -trigger sync is the Location part of sync. The other part is Clock. You will need an interface that can take the smpte or vitc from the video deck and convert it to MTC + this box will need to generate clock (either s/pdif format or optical). Ardsync make a box that can do this. You can also try the Digital Time Piece (it is not USB compatiable). Hope this helps - sync is a difficuly topic to easily explain. ok, you can sync the 001 to the adat with the JLC. But can you sync the adat to the 001? Does anyone know what the serial port on the 001 is for?
