One question arises when I want to open a session copied on a FireWire hard drive. Why Protools asks to convert eveything that comes from FireWire HD and it always translate the whole session just to be able to play it from FireWire Drives! THis is like importing a session and it is a lenghty process. Someone would like to make things clearer!
there's something goofy about that drive....formatiing? It seems as though PT won't recognize it as a valid audio drive. try to create a new session on it to see if that's the case. Also, try booting the computer with the drive attached. Also check your firewire drivers and make sure they're current. -Todd A.

Done! Removed the FW extension from LaCie, rebooted, created a new session on this drive, recorded empty tracks and everything is great. Thanks guys. You nailed it!
It has been formatted with Apple's Drive utility 2,0,7. This drive is a LaCie 60GiG 7200RPM with the D2 enclosure. (And yes it has an Oxford Chipset). It turns on automatically when I start my computer and so it easily mounts on my desktop. I do have the LaCie Firewire support extension active in the system folder (should-I remove it?). I'll try to make a new session on this drive as Chineese suggests. To be cont. Many thanks fellows.
