Is there a 'solo item'?

The title says it :) I often have lots of small items layered across tracks and want to be able to solo a single item as the section loops. Is there a method for doing this? thanks, slow

thankyou bigwoody - the track solo is different. I have say 4 tracks each with 5 small items close together. When I loop over that section I want to be able to turn items on and off but keep the other items on that track 'on'. So the solo has to be for an individual item and not for a track. But I will look at the 'takes' and 'solo in front'. Maybe they will be just what I want

Well, in that case you are cool with muting the items, no? I believe it's ALT+M as default. Toggles mute for tracks or items, depending on the focus. There's also a mute action for items only. Open the action list and write "mute" into the filter field to find it.

This macro sorta does it (unrar it to Reaper/keymaps and import it in the action window): It'll solo any item under the mouse cursor within the current time selection, while it's playing...when you're finished you'll need to unmute the items though (just marquee a selection and hit alt-m, that's pretty quick...or make a shortcut). ps it's mapped to F12. edit: arrgh, that won't leave other items 'on' either if that's what you need, sorry...
