I have tried various different search names and I'm sure it's there somewhere but maybe not.. maybe it's about the only obvious command the devs have left out? :) anyone know if it's there and its name?
You could always do something like this: SWS: Save Time Selection, slot 1 Time Selection: Set time selection to selected items Go to Start of Time Selection (or end of time selection) SWS: Restore Time Selection, slot 1
I asked for the same some time ago. Doing it with time selection like suggested is fine of course, but if you want to do it without (or don't use SWS extensions) it's a bit more tricky:
time selection is a way round it yes :) and already tried those item navigation controls and as eric M says, they cause problems in a macro. Just really need standard actions for it. seems funny they are left out. Thanks for trying though! ;)
Thanks, I did do that after the first time I tried those commands and found it to be a little annoying ;) This really does feel like a strange command for them to miss out :)
Just wanted to bump this because I finally found the fucking actions! Item navigation: Move cursor to start of all selected items Item navigation: Move cursor to end of all selected items They use START and END instead of left edge and right edge, that's why we could never fucking find it! BAH! Anyways this is super helpful for tons of macros, hopefully this helps some people! Consistent action naming please for the love of God! Hahaha... Sometimes the devs seem to enjoy sending us on these little treasure hunts!
i think a macro that would create a selection ending at the start of the 'next item' (or grid) and starting at the start of your first item or a certain grid length to the left/prior of the 'next item' - before applying this new action at the end, would be pretty cool for drummy stuff. [edit 2nd thoughts, think that flawed idea, for tempo changing rex stuff perhaps - recorded stuff, dunno yet] the funky ideas will flow soon enough tho...
Agree with the naming revamp necessary. To our defense: these 'move to start/end of selection' actions are fairly new, they didn't exist when this thread was hot, which is more likely why nobody found them ;).
