Hi, Great forum - first post so please be gentle. We have recently purchased an 05 SE and want to install a phone kit. Has anyone installed an aftermarket phone kit? Current thinking is that we will go for a cradle which will charge the phone - that is what we are used to and the bluetooth kits seem to be a little hit and miss at times. Any pictures of other installs or recommendations on where to mount a cradle in the XC90?? Thanks Xili :support:
Hi, Can you let me know where you picked-up the power from (i.e. Permanent 12V, Switched 12V & Ground)? I assume the latter two are available from the cigarette lighter socket? Cheers Ian

Just about to order a parrot kit for my XC90, going for the bluetooth version, as managed to get a nice neat charger/cradle for my N95 that sits in the 12v socket really neatly, and thus charges phone all the time.. I am looking at getting one of these looms I take it that will work with the system in my car?? I have the premium sound system with Dolby and Subwoofer.. Also can anyone tell me - How the hell do I get the unit out of the dash...... Managed to get the gearshift cover up, and can see two torx bolts holing the climate panel in place, which I assume has to be relesed first?? Can't see anything about removing the head unit on here... Mike
Hi, I spoke to a guy at Volvo about this. You do what you said re. gear shift cover, then remove to 2 outer Torx's that are exposed at the bottom of the panel. I did this but I couldn't get the unit to come out (the guy at Volvo said it would just come out, I need to call him again). BTW, you may have trouble with linking into the speakers, I spoke to Volvo re. this and the amp is under the driver seat so you won't find anything much behind the centre console (it is just a control panel and the connectivity to the other elements is via fibre optics). I just wanted to get the panel off to get +12V (permanent & switched) & 0V to power my Parrot. I'm planning to install a separate speaker (available from Parrot) rather than finding & messing with the speaker connections. Also a word of warning, the guy at Volvo also said that if you turn on the ignition with the centre panel out, you'll trigger an air-bag or SRS warning light that can only be reset by a dealer!! Cheers Ian
further to my earlier email (just to clarify) I know you're meant to remove the 2 external torx's and remove the whole panel (climate control + radio/cd) and not the inside 2 which just hold the climate control part. Having said that, I couldn't get the whole panel out (I only dared use so-much force!). Hence I need to speak to volvo again.
Any joy on this?? I got as far as removing the Gearshift cover and the two Inner screws, as they appear to be retaining tabs for the climate panel, but no joy... Really bugging me now.... Mike
