i just exchanged my last volvo s40 for a newer v40, however i have seen that there are some blemishes on the roof of the car and also by the boot lock. the marks almost look like they are from insde the paint, like dirty splodges but quite small. the ones on the roof are slightly larger. i have my car cleaned and polished, however the cleaners couldnt get the marks off the car no matter how hard they tried. i went out today and purchased some special cleaning stuff which gets rid of tar, tree sap and bird cr@p, followed instructions and ....nothing. i remember flicking through the service book and seeing that volvo v40's and s40's had an 8 year paint and body warranty or something? well there is these marks and i have also noticed what looks like a burst paint blister ( only very small) with rust, on the nearside rear panel. so where do i stand then? the car is a 2001 v40, 2 owners before me and did have a full volvo service history until last year. would volvo sort the blister/rust thing out? is there any other cleaning product which could sort out the marks on the roof and boot area? i also have some stone chip marks on the car, now bearing in mind i am about as physically practicle as stephen hawkins, how easy is it to sort these out by myself with the volvo touch up paints from volvo? i obviously dont want it looking like freddy kruger has stroked the side of my car, however i also dont want it to look like it has been involved in a paint ball war with splodges of colour all over it. i would like this car to actually look like it should, ie. nice. any help is welcomed.
