Yeah ok,- googletalk ;) Basically I run linux,- and msn has been getting shaky,- so I'm trying to pre-emp microsoft pullin the plug on other OS access to MSN. XMPP (which google uses) is open so seems like the best of the bunch to plump for,- anyone got anything to add? Kind regards Dave Rich

Have you tried Skype? I used it a bit when I had a Ubuntu box and it seemed to work OK. I used to use MSN a lot, but 99% of my contacts now use Skype. Cheers, Malcolm.

I dont know why you would use skype though when google's gmail has a video chat built in.
