Record at 192/24; edit at 44.1/24?

Any reason not to bounce a 192/24 classical recording to a stereo pair at 44.1/24 before editing it? 44.1 would be my preference because it allows me to edit on a 002, freeing up my hd system. Anything "wrong" with this approach? (I know, per Jim West, to bounce to 44.1 before dithering to 16 bit). Thanks for your help & comments.

Only thing I would add is from pg. 413 of the PT 'Bible'... "176400-You may want to work at a sample rate of 176.4 kHz if the final delivery will be at 44.1 kHz. This will provide a slightly faster SRC to 44.1 kHz than from 192 kHz." Hear endith the lesson.

Reasons not to do this: 1. If there's any chance that you'll publish a future release at a higher sample rate (DSD, DVD-A, or whatever), you'd have to re-edit. 2. If you're doing any signal processing at the mastering stage, it would be preferable to do this prior to reducing the sample rate.

How many times do we have to ask for offline editing digi?

If you're on a 002 for editing, why not edit at 24/96?
