Constructive criticism please!

I like it! But something about the drums... just not enough presence it seems. The highs seem lost a bit to me, especially on the hard crash cymbals. The dynamics just don't seem quite right... that's the only thing I hear that I think would make it a killer tune. Maybe open it up more "stereo" in the mix... it all seems to be pretty centered. That might be what's holding the drums back. The song is awesome!! Great guitar and lyrical work. Thanks for posting. :) Jedi

Thanks Jedi! I agree with the presence issue. That's the biggest roadblock I'm hitting. When I play the song loud it just KILLS my ears. There is something about the high end that is very straining at high volumes. I've tenaciously compared it to commercial recordings that I like and they don't seem to have the same effect. I use a frequency analyzer to see what is causing it but my spectrum matches pretty closely with the commercial stuff. Finally I just got frustrated and cut some highs on the master mix. It seemed to help the piercing effect but I also lost some presence. Anyone have any ideas on how I should attack this issue? Thanks!

I like a bit of ,"Metal" and some of the heavy stuff and this is superb.Great voice,playing and construction and the song kicks the proverbial :D Took the liberty of giving it a quick Re-master.If you no like,me will run away and hide<grin> :O)

Very cool tune. Excellent playing. Very well written. Love all the drops happening everywhere in the chorus. Heavy, clean, catchy. This track is a winner. Very nice job. Great vocals too!

Great tune! Great vocals and guitar playing. Excellent mix and mastering. I don't like the sound of the drums at all, although the guy can play.

Really great stuff. Awesome vocals. Guitars and bass sound great. There is something with the drums that strikes me as a little "programmed" The tones are good, and the parts are well written, but over time they begin to sound like they are missing maybe a some dynamics, or even just some subtle varieties here and there to keep the listener on their toes a bit. Its not an glaring problem, but its something that I noticed. But overall awesome job!
