sorry to be a gushing fan, but i've gotten Reason up and working and it is the most amazing tool i've come across yet. you can use aif files from old pro-tools sessions -- have them triggered by a synth or beatbox, all in this one unit. and the inbuilt sounds and patches are really top quality, and they'll be releasing more and more "refills" of new sounds from here on in. man, it's gonna turn my PTLE into a device for getting audio into a digital format, and then tweaking the finished audio (which is a cool thing in and of itself). no matter what style of music you're into, this thing is fookin' awesome. (as is PTLE, i'm really not comparing them as they do dif. stuff, and i love my digi001) t.
i'm currently monitoring it straight out of the computer -- i'm not using Reason with PTLE. i'm using PTLE to record parts, and then booting up Reason and sequencing everything in there. i'm using the apple SM until i get around to downloading the proper asio driver for the 001 from the steinberg site. it really is very rocking, and because i think visually, it's much more intuitive for me to use than anything else i've worked with to date. later, uptown
Yep, Reason is great ! We have used since januari, and it still impresses. We use it parallell on a ProTools MixPlus /Mac / Logic Platinum setup using the iac bus just running it like some soundmodules without the sequenser and it works like a charm. For mixdown we could use it on a separate PC with digital outs to bring it cleaner into the mix. Would be great with a workaround to port it direct into protools though.
