best way to send sd2 file via internet

my friend and I have cable modems, macs, protools le. I want to transfer finnished mixes in sd2 16 bit stereo interleaved format. limewire has no problems transfering the files, but they are seen as unrecogniseble format ot the receiving end. do we need to change the extention on the file? tried .sd2 still didn't work. anyone have expieriance with transfering sd2 with limewire? Thanks.

I think (but I'm not sure) that SDII files use the resource fork on the mac. No matter what, you should get good results by "BinHex"ing or "MacBinarying" your files before sending. Email clients do this automatically (well, Eudora and Netscape do), but Stuffit can deal with these formats.
