Hi all, I've just bounced a snare drum with some plugs and my analog Eq (total: 73 samples dly), and imported it back to a new track so I can use my Eq on other tracks too. IT DOESNT LINE UP! When I mix it with the overheads I have phaze issues that I didn't have before! Zooming in shows clearly that the waveforms are not in the same place but while I would expect their difference to be that of the initial track delay ( the 73 smpls) thats not the case at all! ITS ALL OVER THE PLACE! And of course I cannot align it by eye since the original track has the delay that doesn't appear in the actual track! What am I doing wrong?? My mind doesn't go that this is a fact about the most "PRO" DAW in the market! DIGI????????
Hey CLanger, I did that. When I move the original track 73 samples it still doesnt line up. Actually it is still about 100 sapmles off. So even when I pyush the new track 100 samples back it still doesnt sound right. I have an HD3 with an 800Mhz G4 if this helps. Thanks.

Look for other sources of delay: aux routing, aux plug-ins, master fader plug ins, etc. When bouncing, ALL delays through the entire signal path chosen will be incorporated into the bounced file. j

The waveforms of your original signal and your bounced signal will not appear the same, so you can't line them up as if they were twins. My suggestion would be to flip them out of phase and search for the point at which they sound weakest together by nudging them by the millisecond. The original track with all processing against the bounced track. Do this in mono, 1 speaker. If this doesn't work try recording this directly to another track through th analog inputs or the bussing inside PT. If you have the same problem there's nothing wrong with the bouncing. Try muting all other tracks when you bounce. Mine is not to reason why, mine is just to do and die.
I've never had this problem fortunatly, but I wonder if these suggestions might work... Stop me if I'm wrong. change your meter readouts to samples (cntrl click in windowz, don't know what it is mac) and adjust your track according to the number of samples introduced on the original? Will this work?
Seems to me the converter delay from using your analog EQ is not being accounted for in the equation here. I hink for example the 192 has a 102-103 I/O sample delay. Peter
