Ok, just edited the post. As I can see from my other thread about 16bit vs 24bit, I clearly understand why you would not want your view on bit depth misrepresented! Apologies for that.

16bit has different applications. using 16bit samples is much different than your recording or mixing bit depth. its not a big deal to use 16 bit samples (that were recorded in 24bit)... if you want, you can switch back to 24 bit for rendering.

Ahhh...is this a trick question? I mean, I know that they are 24-bit 44.1 kHz samples, but to my ears, no, not at all. So I started the thread "Can of worms: 24bit vs 16 bit" because of this where the general consensus seems to be "record in 24 bit!"

i would say its not too much of a big deal, really. i think people look at 16 bit vs. 24 bit in a very static, context insensitive way.
