Any way to avoid useless envelope points?

When I use a MIDI control surface (the low-rent BCF2000, naturally) to write envelope points, I seem to get a whole lot that don't need to be there. For example, the volume may not change for 3 or 4 measures, yet I'll have a whole bunch of envelope points. Any way to delete points that have the same value as the previous and next points? I did notice the following in searching for the answer... is it referring to the same issue? "+ Menu item and action to interactively reduce number of envelope points"

Right click on the envelope button in the toolbar, and you'll find a useful (and stupidly somewhat hidden) option.
