midi editor: can it auto-dock?

bump i noticed that fx window can be auto docked, but not the midi editor. is this just a mistake? noob out.

I have looked around just now and it seems like there is no such thing as ''docked by default'' for midi editors.

This might work (I haven't tried it). Start a new project and dock the MIDI editor, then go to project settings and save as default. Steve

i just started a new project (v 3.12) and created two midi clips. it seems that the dock option carries over to the second clip if i choose it in the first clip. HOWEVER in another project i have, each clip seems to be using its own instance of midi editor. if i engage the dock option in one clip, another clip will open floated. this suggests to me that each midi clip remembers its state in terms of whether it is supposed to be docked or floating. i cannot really see any advantage of having it that way. can you?
