Sony or mc DSP?

If you had a choice and money was an object.... would you buy the sony/oxford eq and the sony comp or would you buy the McDSP eq and comp? I have tried the Sony stuff and am not blown away yet and was wondering if for "versitilitys" sake the McDSP plugs would be a cheaper alternitive. G4 933 PThd Pro control thanks for the help James

The great thing about plug-ins is that you can try before you buy. Why not download the McDsp demos and compare the two. I found that you can come really close to both the Sony EQ and Sony Dynamics with McDsp.

I cannot agree with this last statement. The Sony plugins are great, and so are the McDsp plugins. Try out both and listen for the difference. I tend to use the Sony's for all acoustic stuff and the McDsp's for all other stuff. Cheers, Bob.

Hello Jamie, Being in the lucky posittion to own both, I have to say they are really complementary. The Sony eq is amazing, very versatile, as you can choose different Eq curves. The comp is Wooow !!! Especially the "warmth" knob Mc DSP stuff is probably easier to use, the results are great too ! But IMO, the most important : support people from these companies are the best you can find around software developpers Try the demos and have fun

And if you compare Waves LinEQ to the two, which one would be the moast transparant?
