would this be possible?

hi guys, still being really new to all this i was just wondering if something like this would be possible.... if i had a midi track (say metallica or whatever) and just extracted the drum layer on it's own, then imported the drum midi into reaper, would i be able to do something like apply ez drummer to the midi track so the drums sound more "real" instead of the generic midi drum tone? cheers!

Yes, you will be able to do this. Just insert EZDrummer or any other VSTi for drums and adjust your MIDI notes to each instrument (kick, snare, hit-hat, etc) inside the MIDI item.
