Inconsistent fader behavior

When I have my fader behavior set to linear (1.0) I get inconsistent fader behavior. It will increase in random increments of like .8db, .5, 1.54, etc. This just doesn't make sense. This is really frustrating when i'm trying to accuretly gauge the relative levels of my tracks. Can we please have consistent volume increase/decrease. Better would be consistent increments of like 1db or at least let us specify the amount of increase. Regardless though it needs to be consistent.

Try holding down the Ctrl key at the same time as using mouse scroll wheel.

yeah that gives me smaller increments but still not consistent. Pulling the fader down holding ctrl it went from -1.0db to -1.9 etc. and as I kept pulling the fader down it continued to be inconsistent. I don't expect this from linear behavior. If I pull the fader and the volume increase/decrease is not consistent the how is this linear behavior?! Thanks for the suggestion though.

Yeah, I'm a retard and all, so maybe trying to see numerical patterns is way, way beyond my grasp. I get (using clicks on the mouse wheel): -.1 -.5 -.13 -.25 -.42 -.64 -.91 -1.23 -1.64 So the incremental differences are: .1,.3,.4,.4,.5,.5,.5,.5,.7 etc What's the deal, Neal?

Yeah WTF is up with that? I know the behavior was all wacky. Oh well I gues they need to fix this bug. Just out of curiosity how do digital faders compare with analog faders. I mean in terms of consistency. Are analog faders consistent throughout. It seems like digital faders kind of take on a mind of their own and do whatever the f#!k they want.
