Digi001 trouble with audio!

After recording 2 guitars, and one vocal, I tried recording miked drums on 4 additional tracks. Signal was getting in, and everything looked & sounded fine, but the drums weren't recorded - what was recorded was just a weird sample of drums from somewhere in the middle, playing in loop throughout the track, plus digital clicks (short impulses), on all 4 tracks!! I've tried restarting, recording again... didn't help! Then, I've tried recording drums in the new session, and it worked. But why can't I add drums to my song?? Problem with the setup? Anyone experienced this? My Setup is: G4/400MHz Sawtooth, 512MB ram, 2 internal 20Gig hard drives.

Two things you should check: - Drivers for all drives connected should be equal (I use HDT drivers) - Was you clock i/o choosen correctly ? If you select the wrong clock, things can get pretty weird...

In addition to Arno's suggestions, you may have some hard drive issues. You should probably re-initialize your drive (be sure to back up all of your data first) or try recording to another drive to see if it has any problems. If you can't backup and re-initialize immediately you should try a utility called Disk Warrior in the meantime. It's very effective with "repairing" drives. Jon Connolly Digidesign Product Specialist
