lights not on

Hi, I have a standard volvo radiocassette with single slot cd player on my '98 v70. A few of the buttons no longer light up :lightbulb: and I assume that they have small bulbs/leds to back light the switches. Is it possible to replace the lamps as I cant find my CD button in the dead of night ( or early evening this time of year!!) Many thanks for any helpful replies

That article is brilliant - it's not too difficult to do, just a bit fiddly, but very rewarding when you see the result! You can get the little 'wheat-ear' bulbs from Maplins. Once you've got the radio to bits you might as well change all the bulbs - once one has gone the others are highly likely to follow suit! Cheers Jack

I replaced some of the bulbs in my radio but I still can't get the lcd panel to light up and I couldn't see anywhere for bulbs to plug in around it, has anyone on here changed their's and got them working?

LCD panel on SWMBO's S70 won't light up,and I can't see how to fix this either. Any ideas anyone? Jack

I've got the same problem with mine, all the bulbs illuminate but not the lcd panel, anybody know if this can be fixed ?

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but I got to the bottom of this today. The LCD panel on my radio stopped lighting up a couple of days ago and as I was wanting to replace some of the other bulbs I thought I'd take a look. Hidden behind the LCD panel's metal cover at the lefthand end is another bulb which is soldered into the board. It's difficult to get to because not only is the metal cover soldered to the board, but a couple of it's metal tags are twisted before soldering so they're difficult to remove.
