CRT vs LCD Problems

if i turn my contrast on my monitor up to 100% i get blocks when i playback dvds. the contrast can soften many of the artifacts you see in your divx files, just turn it down to around 60% to 70%, even lower if the divx is really bad. im really surprised more people dont talk about the contrast setting when they talk about artifacts in divx playback. so first thing, ide check the contrast settings on both monitors before i did any recompressing.
