Hello ladies & genlemen, I'm Andrea (man name in Italy) , 30y, from Milano. I'm at my second Volvo XC90, having owned from 2003 to a week ago a 2003 Diesel 163hp , and now a MY2006 D5 6speed geartronic (with FAP, a bit scared about this). Some considerations after reading your messages : - I've been driving my precedent XC90 on snowy Switzerland and Italy roads without problems with winter tyres. I'm still puzzled when I read comments of people saying that XC90 has a poor AWD, even if I've never been in dramatic situations (heavy snow fall over icy roads during a cold winter night e.g) - I'm very happy with the quality of the car. Interiors are very comfortable and I've been lucky enough not to have big problems with the my2003. I hope I will not have problems with the new one. The only lack of quality in my point of view is in the Radio/Phone...it appears old if you compare with a Touareg or Q7 or Mercedes ML. -It is very safe. I got a little crash with the old one with a VW Passat at low speed. No damage on my XC90 except a couple of scratches.... the Passat had some thousand of euros of damages... Luckly enough nobody got injured due to low speed. - D5 engine. The new 185hp seems more powerful and "full". it still needs to do some more thousand miles to improve, but I feel it already very pleasant to drive. Again , I'm not a speed driver, and I'm always a bit scared on german autobahns. - FAP : I hope it will not give me problems... I'm a little bit scared about this. In Volvo-Milano they assured me that 5 minutes at a decent speed with the engine in temperature is all you need to regenarate. "Remember to do that every tank of fuel"....I hope so... Next car in a couple of years : either Volvo XC60 (looks very nice, and more modern finally) or Subaru Outback. I was very tempted and the choice has been hard...but I felt comfortable the last 4 years with Volvo and I choose to stick with the XC90 once again. Cheers Andrea
