Total noob here. Tascam 2488 user here trying to make the switch to computer-based DAW. Here's my question. I created a drum track in Acid with a tempo of 88 bpm and rendered it to a mono wave file. When I import this as a track in Reaper, the tempo is way off. Even when I set the tempo to 88 bpm in Reaper it still sounds much faster than that. Not only that, but the there seems to be a degradation in sound quality in Reaper compared to the original Acid file. Am I doing something wrong here? How do I keep the same tempo as the original? And what is happening to the sound qaulity? Again, it sounds perfect in Acid but when I import it to Reaper it doesn't sound the same. Thoughts?

Thanks for the link. That was helpful. But in this specific situation I've already rendered the Acid file to a wave file. Would it work the same way? It's a full drum bed with fills, changes, etc. and I would hate to have to piece it together again in Reaper. In my case, it's the wave file that is getting screwed up when imported.

Hello.....did you change the tempo by going into Project settings? Which is what you need to do....then it should be exactly the same....also, a couple things I can think of why the sound might not be right. and...I'm no expert here, hopefully someone else will be along...but, how hot is your signal in ACID when you are rendering....maybe you have the volume to high.....other than that......I would say maybe the driver you are using in Reaper isn't as good as the driver you are using in ACID....it was exactly the other way for me......I had to switch my ACID driver to sound anywhere near as good as my Reaper one which is ASIO4all. Good luck!

Thanks Doughboy. I feel like an idiot now! I was changing the BPM's in the lower right corner of the track listing, which didn't work. Once I went into Project settings and changed the tempo, it sounded perfect. Back to reading the manual...
