You're using the digi001 for recording and mixing and you're not a 'trained' engineer. I got the latest (and actually my first) issue of keyboard magazine the other day (September 2001 - Loris Holland) and stumbled upon a VERY helpful article. Well it was helpful to me anyway. It's on page 118 and the article is by Rob Hoffman called Dance Mix - Mixing Feng Shui. I guess this guy writes an article for the mag every month or somethin. But basically the way it was written helped my understanding of the use of frequencies in the mixing process (something I never would've known if it wasn't for this article). I was able to try a couple of Rob's techniques and I noticed an improvement immediately in some practice mixes I did. Just thought I'd pass this along. It helped me out a bit, maybe it could help someone else.

As my little tag line states...try TapeOp magazine. the subscription is free! It takes a month or two to get your first copy...but it's a great magazine. It doesn't cater to the people who have million dollar studios. It's people recording with whatever they have. Mostly analog, but digital is not left out. The DIY projects are great...it's approachable...that's the best word I can think of. They also have a book out that is mostly made up of the first ten issues of interviews and articles. I have read it more than once. Anyone else read this mag? Do you agree?

I agree with you. I recently got my first issue of Tape-Op, and I like it alot. It is a little analog biased, but not not negative towards digital. Everything is written is a very straightforward kind of style. AND IT'S FREE!!
