alternative item based *track* automation ... please!

hi justin all other devs, could you please add an item based track automation? just like the take based env`s for volume, pan and mute ... but for either track fx (vst`s aswell as vsti`s) or fx on items directly ... the regular track based automation is a pita to use ... have a look at logic`s hyperdraw ... though thatone is working with midi (sadly), that`s what is needed, only with the track based`s resolution. btw, the take based automation in reaper doesn`t seem to do anything on midi items (used with any vsti), although one can activate it and draw it ... or am i doing something wrong? v. 2.55 ...
