Audio asynch on extras but not main movie!

never use decode, always demux you'll got a delay, which you'll enter later while muxing decode the AC3 to WAV using AZID: azid -c normal -a filename.ac3 filename.wav Then encode to MP2 using TMPG (CCE is crap for audio encoding) Then mux with the video file that CCE made in bbMPEG (I'm supposing you're doing a SVCD)

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I am burning DVD's not SVCD. I tried both the .wav file using decode and the .ac3 file using demux from DVD2AVI. Same asynch on each (audio is appx 5 seconds ahead of video). I have not used azid before. What exactly does this do? What are the -c and -a in the command line? If this is a delay, how can I determine the exact time needed for delay? thanks

I'm using DVD2AVI 1.76 and it does show a millisecond delay time in the file name. I tried to remux with both IfoEdit and Spruce Up, neither of which can I find a place to enter a delay time before remuxing. Do you know of a way to enter this delay time in either of these programs? If not, do you know of any other remuxing program that I can enter the delay time in? (preferably freeware) thanks for the replies!

If you can't enter the delay, then you can correct the AC3 to get it without delay, there is a program that can do this, you find it in the audio section in the doom9 download page

DJ Bobo, Perhaps you can help me, I'm curious about your method to get audio in synch: Audio: Azid -> RazorLame Video: AviSynth -> VirtualDub Then multiplex Audio & Video in NanDub. Yep, I'm one of those shmucks who has asynch problems. There will probably be more of us because the guides (which I followed) dont go into this area. Here's my method to back up the movie Iron Monkey smartripper -> DVD2AVI --> 2 ac3 files plus video TMPG (compress video) -> ifoedit for remux compressed video plus original ac3 streams == audio starts synched but very quickly falls out, in the end it's way off, like multiple minutes off. from reading posts, I figure it might be a bitrate discrepancy b/w the audio and the compressed video? My question is, is there a way I can take my existing .ac3 files and manipulate them to match the video?? Besweet? What about this thing called AC3 delay corrector? Does your method work for DVD? This topic needs a sticky or a quide.

It appears I've found the source of my asynch problems. It's rather interesting to those who follow the TMPG guide. Apparently the tmpg template file that ifoedit created for my movie was several I-frames too short. So in essence, my video ended up shorter than the audio, thus the asynch problems.
