Question...If i am using a Midisport 4X4 for my midi input to PT for all of my synths, how do i use a generic controller to controll any synth I pull up in my midi track?
I'm confused... I thought you were running your synths into Pro Tools via a Midisport 4x4. Where did Reason and a laptop come from? So the Midisport and Digi001 are installed on two computers? OK, got it. Now where are the synths connected? It's a bit hard to guess an answer while still guessing the question. Phil
Use Sport only with Reason computer and Digi001 MIDI I/O for chained synths. Reason will then be connected to Pro Tools and Controller in a configuration such as: ------------------------------------------- Controller MIDI-out to PT MIDI-in SynthOne MIDI-in to PT MIDI-out SynthTwo MIDI-in to SynthOne MIDI-thru SynthThree MIDI-in to SynthTwo MIDI-thru Sport(Reason) MIDI-in to SynthThree MIDI-thru ------------------------------------------- (Use shorter than 6' leads when chaining.)
Well, I run midi out of 001 into the first in on the midisport which goes to a laptop running reason. How do i go "thru" reason? Otherwiser i'd just hook up the midi thru on the synth to the in on the next one in line right? and so on and so on till i get back to the midiport ?

Rock on man... that makes sense now. So then on the PT computer, all i would have in OMS would be my controller and DIGI for my midi out. Then on the Reason Laptop, I'd have midisport for midi in and that's it.? So with all of this done i'd only use 1 input on my midisport and no outs? Thanks!
