post a pic of your reap audio preferences. asio//driver selection etc etc. i suspect you havent set up audio prefs correct if your not seeing the settings on the track.

Thanx I will. I think I may also have the wrong drivers. Digging into the Motu manual it claims the software is XP compatable. I saw 64bit drivers on the disc and assumed it was the Vista drivers. If I'm still having issues with these drivers I will post the pic. Thanx for the help
I installed my updates and it seems I'm still having an issue. Manning1: I tried setting my preferences to ASIO, as you mentioned and I received the following error in the attached picture. not sure if this is a Reaper or Motu issue. Photo is cropped to fit Reaper's requirements here Also, do I need the Motu Audio properties set to be compatible with VISTA64 or should it be left alone??
it looks to me like the asio drivers might not be installed. make sure you download n install the drivers from motus site relevant to your OS version. difficult without being there. i would frankly also contact motu tech support. there is a contact button on motus site. i cant check on the drivers as motu wants customer id etc. to access various parts of the site. this is your unit i assume ??
Yeah...I bought 2 8Pre's last week and just got around to installing them. I did contact Motu Tech support. Still waiting a response. I also downloaded the newer version of the software they have for Windows 7 and still have the same issue. I did make sure, by asking on this site sometime back, if these interfaces were compatible with Reaper and Windows 7 and I had a number of people respond that they had them with the same OS and they were fine.

only other thing i can think of. the 8pre has a user control panel..right ?? accessible from your win desktop..right ?? check its set up right. if you could link me to a darn manual for the 8 pre i could help you more cos motu want me as a customer in order to get access to various info/support areas etc. typically in these situations its either the wrong drivers installed , or a setting in the sound devices user control panel. or incorrect driver settings in reap. let me ask you this... outside reap, tell me if you can do this. just basic stuff. in windows media player can you play an mp3 ok ?? n hear it from the output of the motu ?? going for my tea..will chek back answer to that in a few hours. if mp3 plays ok. then check if a 44.1/16 bit wav plays ok. all the best. ps///also try another reap version..ie if youve tried 64 bit. try the 32 bit n see what happens.
